Kevin Turner, Microsoft’s chief operating officer, was at the conference to announce that Microsoft was planning to open its first stores this fall, with at least some of the locations likely to be right near an Apple store.

Apparently MSFT doesn’t understand that they’d be the Wal-Mart of computers… They don’t seriously think they can make a dent in Apple’s cachet with the Zune, do they?
